VISN 7 Centralized Eligibility Team Physician

The Caregiver Support Program (CSP) is one of the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) most rapidly growing service areas, as a result of infrastructure modernization, programming innovation, and expansion of population-served by the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) under MISSION Act. CSP expansion puts the VHA out front of the healthcare industry as a healthcare system pioneer-caring for the caregiver. The program goal is to not only support caregivers in their role but to also promote their health and well-being through education, therapeutic engagement, and resource and service linkage. The major duties of the VISN Centralized Eligibility Team Physician include but are not limited to the following:
Administration/Operations -Reporting to VISN Chief Medical Officer service as a core member of a VISN-level Centralized Eligibility Team (CET) -Adjudicating first-level appeals for alternate VISN CETs and second-level appeals for one of the other three CET Regions. -Review of Veteran's medical record summary, most recent History & Physical, findings of recent testing at the facility, caregiver assessment and care team input. -Interpreting trends and patterns; application of regulation, policy, guidelines -Maintaining understanding of eligibility associated with VA service connection and conducts review of eligibility documents, as needed, to determine whether service connected condition meets eligibility requirement. -Utilizing knowledge of PCAFC clinical eligibility to coordinate with other regional CETs the transfer of appeals for inter-VISN evaluation. United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
