Social Worker - Program Coordinator

The incumbent serves as a Social Worker Program Coordinator assigned to the VISN within the Caregiver Support Program (CSP), which provides a state-of-the-art continuum of services, education and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. The incumbent completes various projects, including assisting field based CSP staff with the execution of the CSP budget, treatment services rendered, and the application of admission criteria to facility based CSP programs. In collaboration with facility based CSP Leaders, the incumbent coordinates field-based interprofessional staffing, including developing, implementing, and mentoring Caregiver Support Program teams on Public Law 111-163, Section 1 and the relevant Final Regulation (Final Rule). The Social Worker Program Coordinator should have at least 2 years in an area of specialized social work practice and licensed or hold certification in a state at the advanced practice level. The incumbent is capable of practicing social work at the advanced level and has specialized knowledge of practice related to the Veteran population who require the assistance of a family caregiver. The incumbent is expected to make independent decisions about the appropriate allocation of time and effort to individual and collaborative projects and to keep their supervisor and leadership informed should there be any issues or difficulty in achieving established timelines. The incumbent must be a skilled communicator capable of developing effective partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations. The incumbent coordinates and provides technical consultation and support to projects and special initiates, including responses to congressional and oversight bodies, as requested by VISN leadership. The incumbent develops and/or reviews facility and/or VISN level issue briefs to communicate CSP challenges with the national office. The incumbent coordinates the administrative and clinical aspects of the Caregiver Support Program (CSP) within VISN 7, using sound judgment in the interpretation of current trends and patterns specific to staffing, work assignments, and the Veteran and caregiver population within the VISN. The incumbent applies relevant federal law, policy and guidelines; and supports facility staff within the VISN with implementation of recommended program enhancements. United States Citizenship:
You must be a US Citizen. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education:
You must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a master of social work. Licensure:

Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j, this part. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
