Social Worker - VISN Caregiver Program Lead

The incumbent serves as a VISN Caregiver Program Lead, which provides a state-of-the-art continuum of services, education and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised and programs implemented. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for programs, which are clearly communicated. The incumbent develops and recommends guidelines and criteria for proper staffing, equipment and facilities for new and existing CSP Programs in coordination with the VISN Chief Medical Officer, and Product Line Managers, field advisory groups, and other entities as appropriate. Develops liaison contacts with VA program offices; VISN staff; VHA facility management and Social Work Service across VISN's (being that they may have to collaborate regarding appeals from other VISNs). The incumbent is responsible for consultations of all professional staff assigned to the CSP Program (Administrative Staff, Nurses, and Social Workers). They may also supervise employees assigned to the program. The incumbent provides clinical consultation and oversight to the VISN and VAMC's. The incumbent initiates, manages, and conducts site visits to review and/or audit facility CSP programs for compliance. The incumbent must be sensitive to the issues and needs of Veterans and their families ensuring facilities within the VISN meet the regulations and program eligibility criteria to be a participant in the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC). The incumbent provides training, education, and guidance to the VISN and its facilities to ensure proper application of program eligibility as well as clinical care provided. A substantial portion of the quality improvement and policy implementation work coordinated by this position is carried out at more than 140 medical centers across the nation. The incumbent has administrative responsibilities for oversight of the day to day operation of CSP across the VISN and is responsible for the development and implementation of CSP, in alignment with VHA, VISN and facility policies. The GS-14 VISN Caregiver Support Program Manager reports to the VISN Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and serves as a key resource for the Network Director and CMO as a part of the VISN leadership team. United States Citizenship:
You must be a US Citizen. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education:
You must have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to the CSWE website to verify if that social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a master of social work. Licensure. Youmust be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Current state requirements may be found on the OHRM website. Physical Requirements. See VA Directive and Handbook 5019. English Language Proficiency. Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j, this part. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
