Production Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Production Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Cadillac Jack production system.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:
Seek and achieve profound knowledge of the Cadillac Jack production system
Apply quantitative methods to assess capacity, scalability, safety, and quality
Execute production planning by determining priorities, establishing goals, allocating resources, and monitoring work output
Study, measure, and observe work methods to determine best practices for daily production tasks to optimize safety, ergonomics, and productivity
Monitor the quality of individual processes and provide operator feedback
Interface with suppliers to identify cost-effective opportunities to improve inbound quality
Develop a data collection system to drive analysis of repair versus replace decisions
Produce training materials that define Cadillac Jack production practices, and develop benchmarks to determine operator performance
Maintain ownership in the level of visual organization and cleanliness within the production facility
Skills / Requirements :
Minimum of two years experience in production, logistics, or supply chain management
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Industrial Engineering or another appropriate field of study
Experience with application of lean manufacturing methods such as 5S, kanban/pull systems, poka-yoke, and value stream mapping
Management experience is preferred
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
MANAGERIAL DUTIES:
Develop and manage a lead production worker to assist in the supervision of daily objectives
Communicate expectations of job performance and provide feedback
Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees
